I am very thankful to have had Dereck take care of my case. He did not sugar coat things and helped me get out of a bad spot that a previous lawyer had gotten me into. Dereck has been my lawyer for the past few years during my ongoing child/spousal support matters. He was knowledgeable and frank with his recommendations and often calmed me down when I wanted to go on the offensive. He is easy to deal with and (unlike opposing counsel was) looked for fair outcomes. He completed responses on time and returned calls and emails in a timely manner. I would recommend (and have recommended) him to others.

I received a referral for Dereck and was impressed until things got difficult. I constantly had to be on top of him to keep things moving, as I was being negatively impacted financially by my ex. His case load is either too high, or he is more focused on his Friday afternoon golf game. I had no choice but to drop him, otherwise I would still be twisting his arm to work on my case.

I highly recommend Dereck for child support and child custody matters. He is extremely knowledgeable about the law; he conducts himself with exemplary professionalism; and he knows how to handle adversarial parties who have questionable ethics. Dereck provided exemplary service with our case, giving us thoughtful, intelligent guidance and support. I truly felt like he cared and really had my back. During one mediation session, he gave my son's mother a talking to that she's deserved for quite some time. He was professional and to the point, yet made it clear we were not going to be pushed over. Dereck displays a calm demeanor, but when the tough get going he proved that I had his full support. Our case wasn't overly complicated, yet he gave us his full attention and support and for that, I am truly grateful. Dereck's knowledge and abilities have been appreciated greatly as my divorce lawyer. He made a very difficult divorce much easier on myself. My ex and her lawyer made ridiculous accusations and demands that Dereck dealt with very professionally and with desired results. Dereck's knowledge of family law and direct approach simplified matters, saving time and expense. Preparation and performance of pretrial questioning was outstanding. Communication with Dereck was always prompt and easy to understand. He is honest and very trustworthy. Every part of the divorce was completed on time and without error, experience is an asset. I do not wish for anyone to have to endure the pain of divorce but Dereck made this procedure much more bearable. I have been helping my friend who is 75 for the last while. She needed a lawyer because her life partner passed away and even though he stated on his will to give life interest for the home they lived in together, his greedy son & wife have been relentless as they did not want to follow their father's requests on the will. After she had a really bad lawyer, who explained nothing & just yelled at her, or told her not to worry even though she thought she would be homeless, we were referred to Dereck & she was able to obtain him for her lawyer. Through all of the stress and expense of this needless experience, the outcome has been satisfactory to my friend. I have dealt with other lawyers & it seems for the most part there is not a lot of actual compassion as it is more about how much money they can make on the case. Dereck was quick to respond in a manner that was easy to understand and always caring. I would recommend him to anyone that is looking for an honest and caring lawyer.

He's trustworthy, honest gets the job done fast. Never wasted my time and is generous with his. Talks to you like you are a regular person. Worked harder for me than I could of for myself at the time. Spoke in terms that I understood. Was reassuring when I felt most vulnerable. I have used Dereck for several dealings from a nasty prolonged divorce to land sales. Dereck has always been efficient and given me a good bang for my buck. He is straight forward and honest from the first meeting and yet allows you input with sufficient advice to direct where you would like to go. Dereck has been my Lawyer for 3 years in Family Law. He is quick to respond to emails and phone calls when I have questions, or need help. During questioning he is thorough and fair.
