I have never met such a dishonest atttorney in my life ; hé left me in the worst situation anyone can imagine , not knowing how to survive and facing prolonged homelessness ; lost my health insurance ; Spousal support ; ended up with zero from a sale of our house with a 900,000$ in equity which was closed more than one and a half year ago ; he had promised to take my case as his previous business partner had told me that my current attorney Back then did not have the experience yet ; while Donald did put a very; unexperienced ; fresh from Lawschool; on a very complicated case and messed it all up while I paid a huge retainer. He left me with nothing ; this is a long term marriage with lots of assets ; All he Coudl do was filing substitution in court and did me charge thousands for this ; the focus was only on money . My ex had filed an RFO meanwhile when he was on the case for suport to zero ; I was not aware of this RFO so he went meanwhile of my case ; had never time to meet;

Never work with him on retainer. He charges you for "reviewing the case" which can drive up your costs for doing NOTHING. I was billed over $1000 before any docs were signed for a divorce.

My soon to be ex-wife hired this firm to represent her...instead they gouged her claiming it took them 16 hours at $275 per to fill out some "fill in the blank" form letters. They couldn't even get the information accurate in their form letters, making numerous mistakes that would require "billable time" to correct or "billable time" for me to contest. Whether they are incompetent or were trying to deliberately cause more acrimony between us who knows. In my opinion THEY are criminals who manipulate the legal system selectively telling clients only that which will ADD to costs. My wife wanted "quick" action to obtain spousal support. They were "quick" with running up her tab blowing through $4000 in two days only they cleverly neglected to tell her it would be 3-4 months before her case would be heard. They then told her if she needed some money soon to sell the family boat. I don't know about CA but in some states they could have obtained an order in one day for some support.
