Promised lots of things and never delivered. I spent months waiting to hear from him and he did nothing. I was contacted by an associate twice who asked the same questions each time and had obviously not read my judgment. Mr. Stolar wanted to go to court when the judgment stated mediation was supposed to take place first and as clearly stated. I asked for my money back as he and his firm did nothing. After several days the paralegal called and apologized. I never heard from the attorney. He took my money and did nothing for me. The one declaration was so poorly written and it cited a case that had nothing to do with mine. Do not hire him, do not give them any money!

Bad communication, over billing, no results, lack of tenacity or strategy, fraud. Save your money. 30k in fees with zero results. His "Associates" get slapped around by opposing council and then blame the over billing on the opposing council. They keep no promises, and only respond to the other side without taking any offensive action. They are great at billing and bad at service.

I would give Steven Stolar a negative star rating if it was an option based on the following: I was deployed overseas in a war zone when my wife went sideways and it left me in a very vulnerable position to vet any legal counsel, let alone defend myself. So, taking a chance I hired Steven Stolar to handle my divorce.
Stolar pawned my case off on an inexperienced, and newly minted attorney who soon quit his law office for a better job.
Next, Stolar assigned my case to another associate who was disbarred and wasn’t licensed to practice law!
Finally, he gave my case to a third subordinate who when I eventually returned to the States found that my case had been comingled with another divorce case client whose name was similar!
I suffered tremendous stress, and financial damages due to the greed and incompetence of Stolar & Associates.
Take your business elsewhere!

Its Hard to find an attorney today that really cares about your case. These guys care. If you want top representation at a reasonable price your search has ended. My wife filed fake domestic violence charges against me and had me arrested for nothing it seems she automatically gets custody with criminal charges against me... another attorney told me I'd be lucky to get monitored visitation but I went to stokar and associates and have a co parenting plan which she already violated so I think my 50% custody is about to become me getting custody.. I love being a dad and am grateful to have found this firm. Good luck and dads... never give up!

I found it to reach my attorney by phone or get email response as well. Getting legal advice was also difficult because it was not originated much during verbal discussions and I had to get answers by persisting in re-asking them until I could get definitive answers. Poor communication is my main complaint however be sure to also carefully read all documents prepared by this firm to prevent errors. I hope this helps other make a good decision in deciding if they want to use this kind of legal firm.

Over billed, double billed, charged $500/hr on the invoice for his associates when a signed contract specifically called for $250/hr for associate work, then he forgot to credit 2 $2,000 payments. On top of this, he prolonged my divorce into a 4 year nightmare complete with civil suit. His associates never returned calls to me or the opposing attorneys resulting in sanctions and contempt charges which I had to pay. Agreed on $40,000 to complete the case and after paying him a total of $57,000, he subbed out and abandoned the cases 45 days before trial for non payment of another $35,000 he demanded, causing me to seek another attorney to "start over" from scratch 30 days before trial. He then has the audacity to demand the $35,000 13 months later, which is after the statute of limitations for attorney malpractice has expired so he can try and sue me without reprisal. Over $90,000 for a divorce that he never went to trial on? Avoid this thief like the plague!

Mr. Stolar accepted thousands of dollars from us over a year's time, and three days before court informed us we didn't really have a case. We had to pursue arbitration which we won, but then Mr. Stolar refused to pay us back. I would give the highest warning possible to anyone considering retaining Mr. Stolar.

like the other reviewer said, take your money and never go to court, never get anything resolved month after month and overcharge.
