All the negative reviews on Myrlys Stockdale are accurate. She should not have a law license. In our experience Ms. Stockdale was grossly negligent, unethical, malicious and willing to do anything in order to keep us paying her inflated fees. She is vicious in her tactics and has no care about hurting children in the process. Myrlys will do anything to keep causing parental conflict, unnecessary litigation, hearings and continue billing you $$! She manipulates her own clients into lying, making false claims and narratives in order to win despite the irreparable harm to young children. She has created an armory of Machiavellian- dirty lawyer tricks; including her own "cookbook recipe" of underhanded financial moves (hiding, moving assets) that she advises wealthy clients to do secretly in preparation for a divorce. Myrlys Stockdale is ruthless and cruel, does not care about families, only wants $$!

Our 25 year marriage ended in an extremely contentious divorce that took 2 years and over $100,000, even though we had no real assets. We have 2 children together and now have absolutely no relationship to speak of because of Stockdale's cut-throat tactics of lying and making false accusations. She generated the same documents over and over again and requested and re-requested documents, generating a huge amount of revenue for herself. My ex even had a discount from his job, but spent close to $80k himself, because she nicked and dime him to death and made me run all over town gathering copies of things she never even used. She also disposed me and never used the info., charged us for collaborative meetings and communication coaches, vocational evaluators, actuaries, all that were not needed. She is on the Collaborative Attorney's board, but she is the most controversial person I have ever met! DO NOT TRUST THIS WOMAN! She uses BOTH sides to her advantage--even her own client!

We got our case completed in less than 6 months and were happy with Ms. Stockdale and the rest of the staff. I would recommend her to a friend.

I spent over $100,000 with her firm trying to get divorced, what a joke she is. Her goal is to drag things along to keep the billing going. She is smooth and calculating in deceiving her client. She does not have her clients best interest in mind, only her billable hours.

Ms. Stockdale has a CV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, she is a mediator and a member of the Sacramento and El Dorado Collaborative Practice Groups. She's actively involved in the community and is on the Court-appointment Minor's Counsel lists for Sacramento and El Dorado County. She and her staff work very hard to keep clients informed and to help clients make decisions out of court as much as possible. And, when that is not possible, she guides clients through the litigation process as well.

Myrlys Stockdale will get you into trouble. Despite her claim that she promotes out-of-court settlements, she supports the adversarial element of family court by digging for dirt on the other party, convincing her clients to "go for the throat" even if it means lying and making false claims that will later come back to haunt you (of course she won't be of any help at that time). She represented me against my ex-spouse, convinced me to lie and manipulate to win, told me not to speak to the other party (detrimental results), and anything else to keep her on my "payroll". She did no research, told me she "had" the case and that I would win - wrong so many times. Because of Mrs. Stockdale's suggestions and tactics, my ex and I will never be able to get along. Although it seemed appropriate at the time, I now regret following Stockdale's suggestions and allowing her to ruin what could have been a peaceful relationship with my ex. She's a sociopath who cares nothing for families... only $.

Implies interest in out-of-court settlements, yet the moment you say anything to her about wanting to come to an agreement with the other party, she stops you and starts digging for more dirt on the other, for the sole purpose of litigation pay. This woman cares nothing about family, but only for her pocket. She screwed us into thinking we would win, when she knew we'd lose. She kept us going back into litigation, paying her $1,500 a pop, only for the inevitable settlement we were prepared to make almost a year prior. The other part rarely got attny fees ordered, and she was no good at any kind of research. She is underhanded, and exactly defines why attorneys have a bad name.
