I can speak to Vanora's excellent traits as a lawyer at three different levels. First, she is an exceptionally well prepared person. Her process pre-trial was thorough, demanding, and reassuring. I never felt like we were at a disadvantage there--I was always certain that we were ready to go. Second, her trial execution was excellent. She looked like the best prepared person in the room and I had absolute confidence in her. Finally, she has great bedside manner with clients who might be otherwise going through a stressful moment. Vanora was assigned to my case without my getting a choice in the matter, but boy am I lucky she was because I could not have chosen better if I had 100 years to search! She was very open with her communication about what decisions we could/should make and why, and always made sure that I understood what the "legal-ese" of any situation was. If we were making a risky or unorthodox decision, she made sure to explain what the normal course of action looked like, what we were doing different, why she recommended it, what the risks were and what the benefits were. Vanora went above and beyond for me. Not only is it extremely difficult to go against the Childrens Aid, let alone be successful. Throughout this process Vanora not only took the time to care for my case and do extensive research, she also checked on me and ensured I was mentally okay. For a lawyer to go so above and beyond, but also care about you is very rare. I am so happy I chose Vanora, and although I wouldn't do the hearing again (LOL) I would choose her everytime. She has 18 years of experience and probably works on a dozen or more cases at a time but not once did I feel like I wasn't her 100 percent focus that's how great she is. She makes anyone she is defending feel like they are number 1. I felt like I was being defended by someone that genuinely cared about my well being.
