I am surprised to see all the negative reviews about Walter. I have known Walter and his wife since the late 70's 80's and he was always respected in the courts, knew the law, and I usually won in court. I even filed bankruptcy, screwed him out of some money, and he kept fighting for me. He handled 3 divorces for me. It did get pretty nasty with my ex at one point but I have to look at my own actions. People need to look at themselves and be accountable for their own actions, behaviors, anger... Can't blame Walter if you are acting out and violating court orders. At one point I was suicidal and Walter gave me hope and encouragement. I am alive 25 yrs later because of Walter.

Walter Hammon is the King of Child Alienation. He method of battle is to alienate the children from the opposing party. He will lie and cheat and not serve notice, win at all costs. His law degree should be revoked. He thinks he is a judge. He does not operate in the best interests of the children.

Walter Hammon is an extremely dangerous attorney both in terms of actually representing your best interests as a client and financially draining your bank accounts. I agree with the reviewer below, that the 5 star ratings must be fictitious. If you are a Dad or a Mom and your spouse is alienating your children from you and/or your family.... don't walk, RUN as fast as you can from Walter, even if he is currently representing you. Bottom line, Mr. Hammon because of his good fortune with his marriage and children, doesn't believe your spouse can have that power over your children. If you want an attorney that you can talk to when you need to, RUN. In 30yrs+ in business I have never encounter such an inefficient staff & such a difficult professional to reach. I should say inefficient staff except for their ability to keep you from connecting with your attorney when you need to talk to him. When I first engaged Mr. Hammon immediately access to my children despite court orders went to ZERO

Walter convinced his client (without my knowledge) to not trust a man that has supported her for many years. Instead trust Walter Hammond so he can take everything she is worth and them move on to the next sucker. He saw the assets and destroyed the family on day one! His tactics are purely designed to keep everyone apart so he can control the whole game making the maximum amount of money and making sure it takes as long as it can so he can take as much of the couples assets as he can. He makes crazy promises and creates so much anger between the entire family that fighting and court battles will last for years, or until the money is all gone.
Like a great plastic surgeon that tells a super model she needs a facelift just to make a buck, and destroys her face in the process is exactly what I am talking about.
The more money you have, the bigger case he builds so he can use up as much money as he can, before the very first court date is ever even finished.

Walter Hammon hides behind his huge red beard. Read the reviews that seem realistic very closely. He doesn't want to talk to his own clients. As his client, my family meant nothing to him. He told me his family, four grown kids, still solely rely on him for support so he was all about my money. If you are willing to pay and join the 1% of our population that can hurt others because they have power, then this attorney is your guy. He is in court constantly but the guy doesn't use email or have any way for his own clients to talk to him. This is on purpose.

Walter Hammon is by far the best family law attorney in Santa Clara County. There are only a handful of experienced, kind and competent lawyers like him in Santa Clara County. He is always prepared. He is always knowledgeable. He is ready, willing and able to litigate and he is also willing to assist in settlement. These other reviews on here are from upset spouses who were opposing Walter. As for his billings, he is most generous in his bills and these other comments are simply upset because their spouse's bill with Walter was less than they paid for horrible representation. If you want someone who will take the time to explain things to you, fight when its time to fight and not be afraid to find a happy middle ground to settle, then Walter is your guy. He's handled a custody matter for me and a child support matter for me from 2008 until now.

Walt is experienced and confident in a well modulated way such that he doesn't come across confrontational. That goes a long way towards keeping the lid from blowing off meetings with opposing parties. I have always found him trying to find solutions rather than stiring up more issues. Walt does not spent his time holding your hand and returning calls which is frustrating for the client but he gets the job done. I would use him again and recommend him highly to anyone.

Excellent in court. Efficient, doesn't waste his time/client money. VERY poor at communicating with client. Could do better at preparatory work for hearings/trials. In my opinion, needs to meet with clients more. Could use an associate or a junior partner.

No matter how busy Walt was, he always was on top of the ball for my case and never skipped a beat in the courtroom. By far the best experience I could have asked for after all the horror stories I've heard about greedy lawyers
