Robert is direct & very thorough. His strategy is to get the best outcome for his client. He is very much aware of the cost impact litigation has to his client's pocket book. He looks for creative ways to mitigate the legal fees while being effective. He responds quickly and is always available when I reach out to him; even on week ends! He always highlights the pros & cons and lays out the various options. He clearly articulates the worse case scenario so that there are no unexpected surprises. Robert got more in one month of being on my case that my previous lawyer did in over 6 months. The opposition was hell bent on dragging things out and Robert kept moving everything along. It took 1.5 years to reach a mediated settlement that is fair despite a complicated situation. All the while he was available basically 24/7 to rouse opposing counsel or to explain what was happening, or discuss overall strategy. Yes his hourly rate is high, but he doesn’t bill $60 for a one line email like my previous lawyer did either. Each billable hour was true value in my opinion. His network is also extensive and he will bring in good people if necessary for business evaluation, mediation, or what have you.

Robert - or Mr T as I like to refer to him is the lawyer you want on your side during this most difficult period in your life. I went to him after a year of not making too much progres with another lawyer and needed his "bite" to get through this process. He was available whenever I reached out and worked diligently, intelligently and thouroughly on my case. I had many circumstances that made it unusual. He enjoyed and excelled at getting it done. I was in need of a lawyer "with bite" as I was getting nowhere with another who was rather passive. Even though I was not married, I had jointly owned real estate that remained subject of debate. When Robert took the case, he took charge, left no stone unturned. They say that sometimes offense is the best defense. Well, Robert is no stranger to that saying. He was the best player to have on my team. We worked together. I live abroad and he was very cooperative working with me remotely. I received responses from him evenings, weekends; whenever the action calls him, he's there. He didn't spare any energy or resources to build a solid defense, came in expertly prepared and negotiated the best settlement I could have obtained. He fought fiercely and obtained results.
This has been the best decision I have made in this separation situation. I got much better sleep knowing Robert was handling things. If I had to this again, I would wholeheartedly make business with Robert. No question.

Robert Teitelbaum did an exceptional job for me.Years ago, at a time when very few men were acquiring joint custody (and fewer lawyers were willing to take on this challenge), Mr. Teitelbaum brilliantly presented a case that achieved our goals. To do so, he first was able to prove conclusively that there was no "urgency" to have me, the father, removed from the premises which immediately insured that the children's well-being was protected. The reviews for this attorneys ratings as excellent are defiantly made by him..I know of at least 3 clients he screwed over including me.and the words "on the planet "I've heard him use many times..not cool Robert..he berated me for the clothes I wore, screamed at me in front of everyone in his office, and totally humiliated me, and then didn't even win my case, which was then won by a new legal aid lawyer which I was his first case. Robert should definitely retire, this lawyer is definitely past his usefulness and too old to care about anything but money. Get a young fresh lawyer who's hungry. That's how I won, he even beat out a seasoned lawyer, and was congratulated by the judge...

I contracted Robert from Australia to battle for the right to stay in my son's life. Two years later when I was granted permanent resident status, he defended my rights for joint custody and won me the right to 50/50 custody. I'm giving Robert all 5's. Why you ask? Is anybody perfect? No, however my 5's are based on a comparative with other top notch family law lawyers that I have worked with. Firstly, we won our case. That alone makes me smile. Mostly, what I liked about working with Robert, was that he was honest with me about everything. My chances of winning, how I needed to manage my demeanor, what research needed to be done and what my case might end up costing me, win or loose. Robert is very strategic in his approach. This style worked for me as I too am that kind of individual. We went in knowing exactly what it was we wanted to accomplish and did not deviate from the plan. Robert Teitlebaum is tenacious, extremely well prepared, with years of experience under his belt, and will never ask a question unless he is sure of the answer. I highly recommend Robert however be prepared for something a little different.

The first meeting I had with Robert I was extremely overwhelmed and stressed since I didn't know what to expect from a divorce. Robert took my case even though it was not strong based on the law, but an injustice needed to be righted, and he believed in it. I went to Robert in desperation having been told by a few lawyers that I was in a challenging situation. Besides the positive ones, I am also driven to his office by the negative comments in this rating: his Montblanc pen suggests a descent clientele; then knowing what is doable or not and being able to say no to clients are actually true signs of professionalism. Robert handled both slippery court days swiftly and gracefully (the opponent saved the heavier strike last minute in court, on top of other unworthy means). His communications are in time to save all of my stress: I can sleep at night in an otherwise would be very depressive time. His experience and vision brings you to a higher ground of standing in court, obtaining the optimal results for his clients. In terms of payment, he is fair and absolutely worth his rate: he is actually very client oriented in finding the most time-money efficient way to the solution. I am getting him a small gift in Montblanc just to match his pen!

This lawyer left me in a worse position than when I started. He knew I had no money but value in a house. At the beginning he was great and dont worry, Ill get you this that every thing. Then I signed a lien to him on my house, and no more Robert. He quit on me when the money ran out. To the tune of $75,000. Now I have nothing in debt. of over $600,000.00.And no more lawyer.He should have retired long ago. Money Money Money.....Run fast....and keep all e-mails and texts...

Me Robert Teitelbaum is an outstanding lawyer; very quick, efficient and definitely no-nensense. He is an expert at assessing characters and therefore knows how to adapt to / deal with all kinds of situations. He certainly knows the laws and never fails to bring up the most valid of points when formulating arguments - both verbally and in writing, when representing / defending his clients. He won ALL of my points when representing me during my divorce. Issues relating to my divorce had dragged on for over 6 years when Robert was recommended to me. My past experiences had resulted in my not being the greatest fan of the legal profession and I was somewhat skeptical that it would be any different with Robert. Don't be put off by the Mont Blanc pen and other trappings! Robert not only has a heart...but also delivers what he promises. He gets to the point, responds rapidly and precisely. In a matter of months all issues had been resolved (and to my advantage). I'm only sorry that Robert was not my original lawyer!

They should have EXCELLENT as a rating because Robert was far beyond excellent. I came to Robert after having a previous lawyer that advised me to just give up... 'They' just had to much money and will wear you down". Robert took on my case like a true warrior and out maneuvered all those who challenged him with his tenacity and experience. No easy order considering my ex is a lawyer and "they" being the family, and a very influential one at that, had one of the best lawyers representing her and there interests. Robert was quick and and exact almost hurricane like. My previous lawyer took a year and half and was advising me to settle for 10% of what Robert settled for in just under six weeks. On a personal note... Robert was genuine and caring towards my situation, he just wanted what's fair and was very honest and definite about his objective and how we could achieve it. Prior to meeting and retaining Robert, I interviewed four lawyers to defend against a hostile separation motion I was served with. He put me at ease immediately, mostly with his no-nonsense, cut-to-the-chase approach. Of all the lawyers I spoke with, he was the only one that strongly recommended we aim to settle quickly rather than enter into a protracted back-and-forth. I felt he was putting his command of the law (37 years of family law experience) to full use in my interest, focusing on mitigating my risk and exposure. Yes, his hourly rate is at the high end of the range, but based on my experience, you'll definitely save because he's so efficient and seems allergic to wasting time. He's also a great guy to boot! Highly, highly recommend.

Come to find out i got a huuge bill after court which i did not expect at all. He is Mr. nice guy until he sents you a bil.He will suck you dry for your money.

I just went through a divorce and costudy and Robert Teitelbaum did it all within 2 months! he is very fast and efficient you basically tell him what you want and he does it for you. He is also always readily available for any questions and genuinely cares about his clients.. he is expensive $350 an hour everytime you meet him and for court however he does what he says and gets the job done as fast as possible...going through a divorce and custody is probably the hardest thing to go through and he makes it easy by the snap of a finger..i went from zero child support to a lot and got full custody and a divorce within 2 months! I will always go back to Robert Teitelbaum whenever I need a family lawyer he is truly the best!

Robert T. is the most professional lawyer out there. He cares for the little guy but not only that, he cares about what's wrong and what's right. Whether your case is worth millions or not, he doesn't overcharge for unecessary things. He gets the job done and always comes out victorious. I was referred to him by a very eminent lawyer as the best family lawyer in Montreal. I cannot agree more. I was discouraged by the comments on this site, particularly, the one about the Mont Blanc pen (now it has become a joke between us). But I am happy that I did not pay attention to these and went to see him. He may seem expensive, but he is extremely sharp and efficient and things that other lawyers do in hours he does in less than an hour. He is also fair and do not take you to court to make money if not needed. This was my case. Although I was ready to go to court he advised that it is better to settle out of court although he made sure that the opponent know that if we do not get what we like we will go to court.
