Johnnie was a family friend. So when I was going through my divorce and custody I chose to use her. After that things took a turn. During our 9 hour mediation, she was with me for about 2 hours of it. The other 7 she was on her phone talking to other clients. She billed me for the full 9. She also billed me lawyer hours (350) for work I know for a fact her paralegal did (150) During mediation she told me that what I agreed to was the best I would get. Then afterwards continued to rack up the hours. She billed me for 21 hours total, and no way in hell she spent that much time on my case. Later, she was representing another person whom I was dating his ex and disclosed some things to him about me. What was attorney-client privileged and what was knowledge from being a family friend is grey at best. But tread lightly with her.

Another lawyer seeking ONLY $$$$.Not interested in following the law - ever.Likely has a major drug problem - which is why she is so disorganized and weird. The Arkansas Ste Police and the FBI should investigate and prosecute.She needs to serve time in jail not in court.

This is my first negative review, ever. However, I feel compelled to warn people to avoid Johnnie Rhoads. I was referred to Johnnie by an acquaintance. I read Johnnie’s abysmal reviews (here) and based on the referral continued with her anyway. Well, I should have heeded the reviews and hope you will too. Johnnie IS very slow to communicate. Her emails are full of spelling/grammar errors – sloppy … just like her performance. In our initial meeting, Johnnie sold me on the strengths of my case but when I counted on her to perform, she fell flat *despite* my having given her EVERYTHING she needed to succeed. It seemed as if she were on the side of my opponent. She squandered valuable leverage we had and hung me out to dry. I would have fared far better representing myself saving the large sum I paid her. Furthermore, I tried to contact her afterwards to see if anything could be done to correct the situation, but she would not return my calls. Once she has your money…she’s done with you.

She makes up her own times in court we were in our temp hearing for 3O minutes she put on our bill 2.50 on the final we were in the court for an hour and she put in our bill 2.40. Those are false times she put and we are responsible for that! We even had proof we were out way before two and a half hours each time and she did not budge just lied to get more money leaving us with a 4000 + bill! Be careful and always record your times with her if you use her!

Ms. Rhodes is a very high-priced attorney who has poor communication skills with her clients. She also seems to have difficulty with money issues which makes her a liability in negotiations rather than an asset.

Avoid her, she's not professional, doesn't return calls, her voice mail says leave one message only, because she never returns calls. She was barefooted at our first visit. She doesn't look out for your best interest.

Thank you for representing my soon ex and turning a short divorce into a drag out for the benefit of your wallet!! I got what I wanted joint custody and you didn't represent me you only took my ex wife's money until it was dried up.....

Very disappointed! ! Doesn't return phone calls or emails. If she decides she does what to return your call it's a 10pm on Sunday.

She has done an awesome job! In my fight for custody! She took control of the court room! My ex's attorney never had a chance in hell! I am very proud of her, and highly recommend her to any father out there fighting for his child!

She has lied to me and told me she could help! Took $ 5000.00 of my money and done nothing to help me get my son! Now my son is behind in school because his mother hasn't enrolled him and as far as home schooling she still hasn't got him set up for that either!! That is neglect! Not to mention that my son is afraid to be with his mom because her and her husband fight all the time and she waves a gun around!

Johnnie Rhoads was fantastic for me through my divorce. I am 41, small business owner with 2 children. She takes care of her business, call backs were a bit slow but if you are looking for a person to call everyday and discuss your problems with go talk to a therapist. Her and her assistant Melissa documented every minute and sent to me every month. If I have a discrepancy I can look at the paperwork and compare. After reading these reviews, it almost looks like the other side is writing the comments (as in the ones who did not hire her). If you are looking for an attorney who DOES have a heart, ethics, morals and a love for her job and the people she represents then Johnnie is the best choice. The price was very reasonable. Even after our mediation my total bill was under 5k. Listen and do what she tells you and you will be happy in the end. If you read this Johnnie, thank you and your staff very much. I have nothing but love for you and will continue to refer you to those in need!

Johnnie was my attorney for about five years. She is known for being very tough in court. While I do not think she deserves to be called "evil", you should know my experiences. She does not return communications in a timely manner...sometimes you will try to contact her for months. There were several costly, sloppy oversights on her part and when you pay $250 an hour you are paying for sound legal council. You will not get a discount for this, but will get charged the full amount. There are several other attorneys in the area who will provide better, responsive, ethical service to you. I recommend looking elsewhere.

WORST ATTORNEY EVER!! She showed up 3 hours late to my first hearing. When she finally showed up she told me she was giving my daughters biological father standard visitation....not what we discussed in our previous meeting(he had nothing to do with her for 3 years she said she would terminate rights). She wouldn't return phone calls or emails. When the case was closed she charged me more than she told me in the beginning(I paid everything upfront) My daughter now goes to an unsafe place every other weekend and I have to pay for another attorney

Johnnie is very intellegent. She can be agressive and I liked that about her. But that was only if you could get her to return calls/emails. Wants to charge $20 for each late two word emails back. Will not return calls, but will deposit checks. Would not recommend and will seek other councel in the future. I think the other comment about her morales are probably not that accurate; she is a lawyer and her job is to win, but her lack of communication is very absurd. You shouldn't have to get hateful with someone to get a reply when you are paying them.

Just wants money. Once paid refuses to keep in contact. Does not keep you updated on new information or updates involving your case. Does not return emails or phone calls.
