Chris is no ordinary attorney. He is a Family Law specialist. He knows this area like the back of his hand and does this by keeping up with the laws and understanding them. He has even sat in as a temporary Judge! He truly is passionate about it. There were more than a few times he had to remind our Judges of current laws and did not miss little things that may have slipped by. He is a Family Law fountain of knowledge! He is in and out of Family Law courts everyday and this also gives him the advantage of knowing the traits and earned respect of the Family Law Judge's. In the Family Law courts, that is a priceless advantage that can't be duplicated.
Chris never sugar coated anything for me. I never got a sales pitch of what I wanted to hear. He always gave me an honest outcome and how we would work toward getting what I wanted accomplished. My old attorney left a huge knot that Chris had to untangle. After my first day in court with Chris, the knot started loosening up instantly. He

I know a few people who have used him and they all said he was a total creep and would never use him again, and they won their case. Hard to get a hold of, office very unprofessional and seemed all about the money...You've been warned

I was shocked at how well he was able to maneuver the court and destroy some false allegations that the other side had made in an effort to get more money (child support). I was a severe underdog in my case all I can tell you is I hope more people find Mr. Abernathy first. When I hired Mr. Abernathy the opposing counsel and judge pretty much laughed at us because I was in such bad shape with many false allegations against me and keeping my child from me in an effort to get more support. Mr. Abernathy proceeded to expose all of the false allegations swiftly and effectively and the opposing side buckled after an hour on the stand of story after story being properly pointed out that did not match up. At any point in this situation you need an attorney like Mr. Abernathy that is going to aggressively approach every situation at hand. I trust him and that he gets the job done. Mr. Abernathy is on his A game and I am glad he is on my team. Any nasty reviews sound like someone who lost.

I couldn't wait to drop this man as an attorney. Not only is he rude to the opposing council he was rude and condescending to me. ( He verbally assaulted my spouses attorney after the hearing didn't go his way). I am not even that mean to my soon to be ex spouse. I think he has issues with women stemmed from a long time ago in life because if he is this rude to someone who paid for his services he has other problems he needs to work out. If he wasn't a court appointed attorney I doubt he would have any return clients or referrals. He seems to know laws and quotes them all the time but can't seem to represent a client unless a law backs what he says. No human emotion. I am glad we switched counties and hope I do not have to deal with his arrogance , rudeness, lack of empathy , lack of communication and Rainman like law quoting again and hope my new attorney isn't like this.

I had another attorney before finding Mr. Abernathy. All I got from the other attorney was a stack of letters and a lot of postponements. Mr. Abernathy doesn't write lengthy letters to clients, but he does get results. He is well respected in the court room and gets his cases heard first, so you are not wasting money just waiting around in court. In the end, Mr. Abernathy got me sole legal custody of my kids, a fair result for my divorce issues and he did it for less than 1/3 of the average monthly rate I was paying my "letter writing" attorney. Comparing the two law offices, he does a lot of things that end up saving money. For instance all documents are scanned and he has everything available on his ipad. he can find documents quickly on the spot in court. He is VERY skillful at negotiations and really shines in this area - both negotiating with the opposing counsel and in convincing the judge to see his side. He won't hold your hand, but he'll get you RESULTS! Top Notch!!

Don't let the reviews fool you. Mr. Abernathy is an exception attorney. I would have lost everything but for him. He genuinely cares. I have no regrets

This is lawyer is why attorneys have bad names. He is very unprofessional. He cares more about money than the client. He will definitely fight for you, but his motives are for his sole financial benefit. Hearing his lies when he argues make me resent hiring him in the first place. I am glad my case is done. He can no longer using me as another ATM.

I have basically seen it all and Abernathy is the best I have ever seen in court of representing his clients best interest always gets my referrals.

never communicated. never explained things well. made promises he didnt keep. never returned calls. i felt i was last on the list. his briefs were one tenth the size of opposing council
